Judy Karniewicz was born and raised in rural Virginia. She attended the University of Virginia prior to attending the University of Florida Levin College of Law where she graduated cum laude. Judy returned to the University of Florida, following her admission to the Florida Bar, and obtained her masters in Taxation Law. She is currently a member of the Tax Section of the Florida Bar and was one of two recipients of a Fellowship award from the Section in 2009 and 2010. After graduation from the Tax Program, Judy practiced with a Tampa firm for a little over four years prior to opening The Karniewicz Law Group in 2008. For the last ten years she has focused her practice in the areas of corporate law, estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, estate administration, asset protection, taxation, and business law, including assisting with start-up ventures, franchises and other investment companies, as well as assisting with obtaining investors, business succession planning and exit strategies. Judy is able to provide specialized services often found in big firms based on her education and experience, but with the personal touch that can be offered in a smaller practice.
Partner Judy Karniewicz
Calli Wheatley was born and raised in South Florida. She attended Palm Beach State College where she received her A.A degree and a degree in Office Administration. She graduated from Palm Beach State College in 2015. Shortly after receiving a receptionist job at a law firm, a paralegal position was opening, and she decided to go back to school. She attended Florida Atlantic University to pursue her career as a paralegal. She completed the program in 2017. She has several years of experience with estate planning and probate.
Liza Menietti is a certified paralegal with over 15 years of experience in probate and guardianship law, including over 7 years of experience with The Karniewicz Law Group where she has added estate planning and corporate law to her areas of expertise. She loves the personal, individualized attention given to each client and the strict adherence to ethics and integrity that form the foundation of The Karniewicz Law Group practice, and which are so rare to find in today’s legal field. She grew up traveling in the military, and settled in the Tampa Bay Area in 1991. In her spare time she enjoys training and spending time with her English Bulldog, Gus.
Sabrina Afflixio is the firm’s administrative assistant and also personal assistant to Judy Karniewicz. Sabrina has known Judy for over twelve years and joined The Karniewicz Law Group in 2014. Sabrina is a SUNY graduate and has worked in various fields over the years, including marketing, sales and ultimately the legal field. She and her husband moved to Tampa in 1984 and have raised two boys and are now enjoying traveling and boating during their free time.
